ROTARACT CLUB OF KNUST

 Members of the Rotaract Club of KNUST sponsored by Rotary Club of Kumasi had an interactive session with members from Rotary Club of Banff , Scotland on the 18th March, 2018. The president and the members of Rotaract Club of KNUST  expressed their gratitude for the support and expressed their willingness to collaborate in the future for more projects which would make a difference in the world.

Rotaract clubs in Zone D as part of the fulfillment for the challenge thrown by the Rotary International President Ian Risely to   members of the Rotary family to plant at least one tree each to change the environment for the better by Earth Day on 22 nd April, 2018 , planted 50 seedlings in Sunyani Senior High ( Sunyani) on the 6 th March, 2018. The project begun exactly at 8am and finish by 2pm. The Zone coordinator Rtr. Enoch Darko explained that , environmental degradation had been identified as pressing issue lately hence, prompting the Current RI President to look outside the six (6) areas of focus to tackle the problem of environmental degradation through tree planting. He further explained that the initiate was from the national office of which same project took place through out the country at various zones.    The project was in collaboration with the NSS personnel at the Forestry Commission. 1. Rotaract Club of KNUST sponsored by Rotary Club of Kumasi organized a health screening exercise for the students of the KNUST  for free. According to the president of the Rotaract Club, the project was focused on one of the six focus areas of Rotary which was sanitation and disease prevention. The project was meant to provide the students with services that would help promote their health by letting them their medical status. Students were screened for Hepatitis B, HIV as well as eye screening. The project was in partnership with Asokwa Children's hospital, College of Humanities and Social Sciences from KNUST and Micro Medical.

Let us all contribute in the best way we can to serving humanity and make the world a better place for all humanity.

On the 21st of September, 2017, a community clean up exercise was organized to effort of participating in the National Volunteering Day Program. The exercise was carried out at Ayeduase market which happens to be a community within the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Similar exercises were also organized across the country. Rotaract Club of KNUST happens to be part of the Zone D group. Participants also educated the community members on how to continually keep the environment clean which would eventually help prevent the spread of disease. It must be noted that this is in line with the area of focus for disease and prevention for Rotary International.

Rotary Polio March As part of the effort to eradicate polio from the world, a polio march was organized around the country and the world with the help of Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors  from different parts of  the world, partnered by Polio Plus foundation and other  organizations. Numbering about 500, personnel from these institutions walked through some principal streets in the country to raise awareness about polio and the need for mothers with children under five (5) years to immunize their wards against it. The walk dubbed ‘End Polio Now: Make a History Today’ and led by the Ghana National PolioPlus Committee (GNPPC) We are this close to eradicate the manace with just a few countries left such as Pakistan and Nigeria. The March in Ghana took place across all regional capitals in the country, with participants marching in the principal.

The Rotaract touching life project is an international project being undertaken by Rotaract clubs from KNUST, UCC all from Ghana, Rotaract club of Lagos, from the university of Lagos, in Nigeria, Belmont and U.I.C.T from Zimbabwe and Uganda respectively. Rotary Club of Kumasi East headed by Rotarian President Kyeremateng gave birth to ROTARY COMMUNITY CORPS OF NTINANKO. Ntinanko is a community, an hour drive from Kumasi off the Manso Nkwanta main road thus through Anwiakwanta township. The RI president signed the certificate of organization on the 2 nd of May 2017. There was an off-site meeting at Ntinanko on Wednesday 24 th May 2017. The district RCC chair, PAG Sowah represented the District Governor at the Inauguration.   The assistant governor, AG Isaac also joined the inauguration. 

Presentation of Citation On the 16th of May, 2017 members of the board of Rotaract Club of KNUST met their sponsary club; Rotary Club of Kumasi to fellowship with them and also present a citation to them for the immense contribution and support they have rendered so far.  Acting Rotarian President for the evening The acting Rotarian president also gave his acceptance speech and admonish  the Rotaractors to endeavor to do more to make a difference in the lives of humanity. Rtn President Kyeremateng On the 17th of May, 2017, members of the Board of Rotaract Club of KNUST had fellowship with the Rotary Club of Kumasi East. The board also presented a citation to the Rotarian President Presentation of Citation Kyeremateng Mensah Aborampah and the entire Rotary club members for the support and advise they render to the Club in its pursuit of  making a difference as the Rotary year stipulates. The Rotarian President also gave his acceptance speech and thanked the board and entire members of Rotaract Club of KNUST for their recognition. Rotarian President Nominee also gave a talk on the topic of the right ways of taking medication.He empahsized on a number of things which were pertinent to the way patients take medication and rendered a professional advise on how to go about some of them.
