ROTARACT KNUST GOES ON A POLIO PARADE

Rotary Polio March

As part of the effort to eradicate polio from the world, a polio march was organized around the country and the world with the help of Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors  from different parts of  the world, partnered by Polio Plus foundation and other  organizations.
Numbering about 500, personnel from these institutions walked through some principal streets in the country to raise awareness about polio and the need for mothers with children under five (5) years to immunize their wards against it.
The walk dubbed ‘End Polio Now: Make a History Today’ and led by the Ghana National PolioPlus Committee (GNPPC)
We are this close to eradicate the manace with just a few countries left such as Pakistan and Nigeria.

The March in Ghana took place across all regional capitals in the country, with participants marching in the principal.

Rotaract Club of KNUST conducts Free Health Screening Exeercise

Rotaract Club of KNUST sponsored by Rotary Club of Kumasi organized a health screening exercise for the students of the KNUST  for free. According to the president of the Rotaract Club, the project was focused on one of the six focus areas of Rotary which was sanitation and disease prevention. The project was meant to provide the students with services that would help promote their health by letting them their medical status. Students were screened for Hepatitis B, HIV as well as eye screening. The project was in partnership with Asokwa Children's hospital, College of Humanities and Social Sciences from KNUST and Micro Medical.
