1ST MEETING FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR
ROTARY THEME:ROTARY MAKING A DIFFERENCE
DATE: 2ND SEPTEMBER 2017.

The meeting started at exactly 5:00pm with more than 90% of executives present, few members as
well as guest. Apologies were made on behalf of Francis Tetteh and Isaac Nyame
Main Agenda:
PLAN OF ACTION
a. International trip to Nigeria hopefully 22nd September
b. Donation to Garden City Special School
C. Zonal project (D): our zone comprises of KNUST, Kumasi technical university,
Provisional Rotaract Club of University of Energy and Natural resource
(Planning of having blood donation/donation to prisons /donation to the psychiatric or
Childrenā€™s hospital
The Fourth project was said to be in the pipeline

*.We also talked about our mini project thus Bob-a-job to be held at Ahodwo and Maxima
Goil filling stations on 9th September, 2017. Introduction of new executives and members were made. We were blessed to have our SRC President David Dannah who is a Rotaractor and an immediate past secretary of the club at the meeting .He  made known of his plans on collaborating with Rotaract club of KNUST. When it comes to volunteering programs  which the SRC will be having.
He stressed on we working with the club leadership since he wants to create a platform for club leaders who are engaged in mentoring and imparting positive attitudes to students like our cherished club.
IPP Fred Asante  who was also present  talked about the importance of joining Rotaract club, the ability to serve the society we find ourselves in as well as the impact and benefits of that
service .He made emphasis on the dress code to meetings thus semi-formal or formal. They both promised to give the necessary assistance when called upon.
We also talked about our experiences at various workplaces during the vacation.

ANYTHING GOOD OF THE CLUB
a. A concern was raised   for this administration to have more concentration on education
rather than blood donation. We have been known for blood donation thus this administration
should be unique in its own way.
b. Dress code should be formal or semi formal
We climaxed our meeting with pizza and drinks for a feast of fellowship
Meeting ended at 6:20pm.

Rotaract Club of KNUST conducts Free Health Screening Exeercise

Rotaract Club of KNUST sponsored by Rotary Club of Kumasi organized a health screening exercise for the students of the KNUST  for free. According to the president of the Rotaract Club, the project was focused on one of the six focus areas of Rotary which was sanitation and disease prevention. The project was meant to provide the students with services that would help promote their health by letting them their medical status. Students were screened for Hepatitis B, HIV as well as eye screening. The project was in partnership with Asokwa Children's hospital, College of Humanities and Social Sciences from KNUST and Micro Medical.
